Lecturer David Reed Albachten Joined Core Program

David Reed Albachten received his BS in Nutrition Science and MA in Healthcare Management from the University of California and The University of Iowa, respectively. David married and settled in Istanbul after a successful 25-year international executive career in healthcare, healthcare computer applications, and clinical pharmaceutical management.

Beginning in 2009, David taught in the English Preparatory Program at Boğaziçi University, then for six years at Istanbul Şehir University, and then back at Boğaziçi University from 2016, until joining the Core Program at Kadir Has University for the 2021-2022 academic year. In 2010, David received a CELTA from the University of Cambridge.

In 2012 David became internationally certified writing, speaking, Life Skills examiner (IELTS). David founded the Academic Writing Center at Şehir in January 2012 and went on to teach the first critical writing course for Şehir’s graduate program for three years.

David is very interested and passionate about helping students improve their writing, speaking, and debating skills and researching how to improve students’ writing process. Since 2012, David has presented scientific papers at numerous international conferences and published a peer-reviewed article in “IATEFL 2016 Birmingham Conference Selections”.
